HELLO IN 30 SECONDS OR LESS

I can be mistaken for a wild lion when my hair is blow dried.

I freak out at the sight of anything miniature.

I am partial to round letters. I believe they're friendlier.

To prevent death by screen staring I spend my Saturdays printing, binding and building things out of paper.

I am a crazy bunny lady. I have adopted two, Theodore & Aurora. #theoxrora

I will always attend a wedding whose invitations were letterpressed.

Gloomy weather makes me happy.

CAREER PATH

Of course anyone is welcome to decipher my resume, but if you’d like my semi-quick version I’ll try to lay it out here.

Starting out as a print intern at a small but mighty letterpress shop, Igloo Letterpress, building floral retail displays out of paper and helping students lay out woodblock designs. I then starting working at a small boutique branding agency in Columbus, Ohio, Summerfield Advertising, (creating brochures, logos, websites) for mostly local brands. Next up, a mid-sized advertising agency, SBC, where I designed print catalogs, graphics for motion videos and informational posters for national retail brands. This then led me down to Cincinnati, Ohio where I worked at LPK for 4 years as a Senior Designer for global brands. This is where I got deep into brand strategy, brand guidelines, CPG packaging and a myriad of anything else attached to brand experience.

Two years ago I took a leap of faith and moved to San Diego, CA to work at Elum Designs. I wanted to challenge myself by designing in a entirely different world of products, to strengthen my illustration skills and explore new ways to create. I began creating stationery items, ceramics and a wide variety of consumer goods. I believe being versatile is the only way to survive as a business and as a designer. Now, more than ever.
