2021 in 12 Images

#1 I SAID YES!! // 01.23.21 // 2021 started out in the best possible way, with Danny asking me to be his wife! And I know everyone says this, but dang it was simply magical. We went away for the weekend in a little cabin on top of Frazier Mountain, CA. We were standing out on the balcony, picturesque mountains surrounding us, it just started to snow, and the picture tells ya the rest.

#3 TIME FOR A BREAK // 04.16.21 // I quit my job, and took a few weeks off. During those few weeks I traveled to see family I hadn’t seen in over a year or longer due to the pandemic. Best decision I ever made. I was able to spend a whole week with both sets of Grandparents at their homes and even flew out to Seattle to see my cousins who had had multiple babies since the last time I’d seen them.

#5 BRIDAL SHOWER // 06.26.21 // My mom and sisters threw me the most amazing Bridal Shower. We were even able to include virtual guests via zoom! It was perfect, down to every single thoughtful detail; I felt so loved.

#7 LOS ANGELES SIGHT SEEING // 07.04.21 // Once we made the decision to move back to Ohio after our wedding we kicked our adventurous spirits into high gear to make sure we saw as many Los Angeles landmarks as possible. We checked Disneyland, Universal Studios, The Hollywood Sign, Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Venice Canals, Chinese Theatre and a few more epic hikes all off our list.

#9 HONEYMOON // 08.18.21 // Right after our wedding Danny & I took a ferry to Catalina Island to enjoy our Honeymoon! It was a wonderful week filled with epic snorkeling, beachside cocktails, jeep island tours, and so much delicious food. We especially enjoyed exploring the island with our golf cart and seeing A LOT of wild deer up close and personal.

#11 MOVED BACK TO OHIO // September, 2021 // Lordy, I sure hope we never have to ship everything we own across the country ever again! SO MUCH WORK. In September, we moved back to Cincinnati. It was A LONG drive but a beautiful bookend to the journey we started almost 4 years ago.

#2 I GOT VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 // 03.04.21 // As everyone knows 2020 was awful due to the effects of COVID-19. In March I was able to receive my first vaccine shot against the virus. As I was living in Los Angeles at the time I stood in a line for about 1.5 hours before it was my turn. But honestly, I would have stood there for 10 hours, I was thrilled to do my part to fight this disease.

#4 STARTED A NEW JOB // 05.10.21 // After getting engaged, Danny & I talked a lot about the type of life we wanted to build together. A lot of that conversation was about the desire to be near family once again. Which helped drive the decision to accept a new Design Director position back in Cincinnati, Ohio! However, we were in the middle of planning a wedding in Joshua Tree National Park at the time. Luckily the job agreed to let me work remote until after the wedding. Which started our bittersweet goodbyes to the wonderful California.

#6 BACHELORETTE PARTY // 07.31.21 // I was so lucky to have all of these amazing girlfriends celebrate me during a super fun Bachelorette weekend. We rented an Airbnb near Temecula, CA and had a wonderful weekend filled with white claws, floating in the pool, and playing games. I felt like a freaking queen. Memories I’ll cherish forever! Thank you!! — (Sarah, Kayla, Allie, Aubrey, Rebecca, Miriam, Casey, Claire, and Olga)

#8 WE GOT MARRIED // 08.14.21 // Danny & I tied the knot in Joshua Tree National Park during a very intimate ceremony with our 10 guests. I cannot express enough how perfect this day was. Cheers to forever with the love of my life!

#10 SAYING GOODBYE TO CALIFORNIA // Wow, I still feel in disbelief that we actually left California. What were we thinking right?! But the fact that we get to be within driving distance of both of our families is what I always come back to. Before leaving the best state ever, I took a day just to go to the beach by myself. I will forever be thankful for the adventure, memories, and friends California gave us. Cheers to many future vacations in San Diego.

#12 SAYING GOODBYE // November 24th, 2021 my Grandpa Fern passed away. Honestly, it still doesn’t feel real. This photo is from the break I took from work back in April. I got to stay with him and my Grandma at their home, I am so grateful for the time we got to spend together. Sweet memories of watching Wheel of Fortune together, a game of Uno filled with laughter, and quite evenings spent dong word searches. When we did our move from LA to Cincy, we were able to stop in Kansas and surprise him in my wedding dress, which was the last time I saw him before he was called home. Rest peacefully Grandpa. You are so dearly missed.
